THERE IS A LOT OF RUNNING MERCH. ALMOST NONE OF IT IS FUNNY.
we checked. it took a while.
Search for a gift for a runner and you get the same two things. Motivational: a silhouette on a hill, the word BELIEVE, a sunrise. Or joke merch so broad it could be about golf. Both were made by someone who has never waited four hours in the rain holding another adult's coat.
We write from the other side of the barrier
Run & Tell started in a house where one person suddenly became a runner and everyone else became staff. The jokes here are not invented. They are things actually said in that kitchen, usually at five in the morning, usually about shoes.
That is the whole difference. A generic running gift says I know you run. Ours says I have listened to you talk about it, at length, and I still like you. One of those is a gift. The other is a t-shirt.
The test every design has to pass
If a non-runner would find it equally funny, it is too broad and we do not print it. If it makes the runner laugh and wince at the same time, it goes in.
It also has to be true. Nobody has ever said "run like nobody is watching". People have absolutely said "we are not buying more shoes" and then bought more shoes.
Five reasons to buy here
1. Written at the finish line
Every line came out of a real house, not a slogan generator. That is why they land.
2. It lands with the right person
These are inside jokes, printed. The person opening it has already heard the joke — usually from you. That recognition is the actual gift.
3. Printed to order
Nothing sits in a warehouse and nothing gets thrown away. Slightly slower than a shelf. Considerably less waste.
4. Built to be worn out
Cotton tees in S–3XL, sturdy canvas totes and soft baby bodysuits, with prints that survive the wash. Not a novelty item that lives in a drawer.
5. Gift-ready by default
No prices anywhere in the box. Leave a note at checkout and we write it out. You are almost certainly buying this for someone else, and we have planned accordingly.
Who this is not for
People who want a shirt that says RUN HAPPY. People who have never been woken at five in the morning by someone being cheerful. Anyone who would describe a race as a journey.
Everyone else: the whole crew is through here. No dues, no qualifying time, no minimum pace.
